Permanent Artificial Grass Lines, Goals and Fencing
The challenge
To create a level surface with fencing and football pitch where children can play on all year round.
Finer details
To create this pitch, the current area was excavated using diggers and grab hires to remove the muck away. The area was installed with metal edging creating a border to retain the sub-base of the area and separating the football wired fencing.
A geotextile membrane was added with a sub-base of 100mm deep which is circa 350 tonnes of material including MOT Type One and Grano/Granite Dust. An additional geotextile membrane is added on top to provide stability and prevent further weed growth.
It required 5 team members to move the artificial grass into place and install the artificial grass with permanent artificial grass lines. Afterwards a rubber crumb infill was installed to provide a great ball bounce and weight/stability for the grass to be durable for the primary schools heavy sport.
Lastly, football goals and fencing were installed for the completed finish.
